The Refuge has announced an all-day celebration for Father’s Day on Sunday 20th June, featuring a pop-up shop in The Den, alongside music, food and drinks happenings throughout the venue – the perfect space for dads to spend quality time in style.
The Father’s Day special will feature an exclusive mini record store in partnership with Clampdown Records and a contemporary homewares and accessories pop-up shop from Deadstock General Store.
They’ll be joined by local breweries, Pomona Island and Shindigger; while food choices span from The Refuge’s legendary Sunday roast, to curated street food by EATMCR. Completing the line-up will be Manchester’s finest local DJs.
The Refuge has collaborated with Clampdown Records, one of the best-known independent record shops in the city, and also recently appeared on Russell T Davies’ hit TV show, It’s A Sin. The mini record store will feature crates with standout new and second-hand records, offering a wide selection for dads to dig in and browse.
The Sunday affair will also see a pop-up shop by Deadstock General Store, offering a unique and stylish collection of homewares and accessories.
They’ll be bringing a special collection of firm Father’s Day favourites, perfect for you to pick up a last-minute gift for dad (or just to treat yourself). Choose from tools, facial hair treatments and organic toiletries, to beautifully-made socks, candles, botanical paperweights, and everything in between.
On Sunday, The Refuge is all about the roasts – so you can treat dad to one of the best in the city.
Spend that quality time over their signature roast platter for two, piled with grass-fed rump of Lancashire beef, half a roast Cumbrian chicken, rare breed pork loin and all the trimmings (including thyme and salt roast potatoes, Vimto-braised red cabbage, glazed carrot, seasonal greens, Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese and pan gravy).
In addition to this, the special ‘Tenner Well Spent’ menu is also available in the Public Bar, which includes a mouth-watering pork or roast beef rump sandwich, with a side of roast potatoes and gravy.
As part of The Refuge’s drink collaborations, exclusive crafted beers will be available from Pomona Island Brewery, Shindigger, and Manchester Union Lager, where guests can pick up a tote bag filled with goodies, including a Manchester Union pint glass, badge and one of their craft lagers alongside their regular four packs of beers.
Other drinks served all day at the Public Bar include signature cocktails, gin perfect serves, and a wide selection of wines.
Also happening on the Waterhouse Way terrace is The Refuge street food collaboration with EATMCR, which is taking place all summer long, and features some of Manchester’s favourite and most exciting food traders and baked goods.
If you’re into The Sopranos, continue to whet your appetite with the Italian-American style sandwich from Bada Bing, alongside Batard Bakehouse, run by Lewis Loughman, who offer ‘well good bread + bangin’ bakes’.
The Dining Room at The Refuge is open Monday to Thursday from 5pm to 9pm, Friday from 5pm to 10pm, Saturday and Sunday from 1pm to 10pm. Advance bookings for Dining Room are available and encouraged.
The pop-up shops at The Den on Sunday 20th June are free to enter. The Waterhouse Way terrace and the Public Bar are available for walk-ins.
