Ring in the New Year with this Adults Only Panto

Expect songs, silliness and plenty of audience involvement (you aren’t getting out of that one!)

Looking for a new way to ring in the new year? Aren’t we all.

How about spending it with some dames, damsels and The Donald in Heartbreak Production’s original, online, adults-only Panto: Tinsel In My Pants.

The story follows Terri, the theatre tech as she bah-humbugs her way through another Zoom quiz.

She gets sucked into Panto-Land via a faulty signal and must find her way back, revisiting 2020s challenges while coping with dames, damsels, and The Donald. This is very hard to do when Puss in Boots is carrying a whip and thinks “50 Shades of Grey” is an instruction manual.

There are only 100 tickets available for each show, so be quick!

Peter Mimmack, Heartbreak’s artistic director said:

“I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into a theatre project. Hopefully the joy of rehearsals, creativity and sharing will bring some lightness and laughter into living rooms across the UK”.

This is Heartbreak’s first venture into live theatre, who are traditionally known for their open-air theatre tours.

During lockdown, the team created Heartbreak at Home, showing past productions for free on their YouTube channel and produced an Arts Council funded film project called Escape From Lockdown.

Like many independent businesses across the city, the company has made a huge effort since Covid to adapt their current model.

This live, online panto is the latest answer from Heartbreak to the persistent Covid-19 restrictions that looms over our entertainment and arts industry.

Maddy Kerr, Executive Director of Heartbreak said:

“This year has been one of the most challenging in Heartbreak’s history and we’re very grateful still to be able to continue work in the industry we love with actors and arts professionals – huge thanks to Cultural Recovery Fund/Arts Council England.”
