Sicilian NQ is a relatively new addition to the Northern Quarter, properly opening the doors to its new restaurant at the start of this year.
Little did they know that despite Boris’ promise of a ‘fantastic year’ for Britain, things would be one of the most difficult times for a restaurant and any other hospitality business quite possibly ever.
But that hasn’t stopped them from providing us with delicious and authentic Sicilian food all year round come rain, shine or pandemic.
To top off their food menu which is now all available for delivery, they have also opened up their doors to a quaint deli offering some highlights of Sicilian food.
The deli is stocked with jars of homemade sauces straight from their kitchen so you can recreate some of Sicilian NQ’s most popular dishes at home such as the Arancino Spinach with the red pepper sauce or wash it down with their bottle of Homemade Limoncello.
All the cocktails are served in 250ml bottles which includes three whole servings of your tipple and range from £8 to £15.50.
If you don’t fancy Limoncello, they’ve also got staff favourite ‘Sicilian Life’ which is a mix of gin and Aperol as well as triple sec, bitters, lemon and sugar syrup making it the perfect bridge between summery Aperol spritz and strong wintery short cocktails.
Plus there is Negroni, White Grappa, Mai Tai, Sicilian Margarita and Mafioso. Plus a whole selection of wines and Prosecco.
All of their cocktails are made to last longer than you might think. Infusing the alcohol mix with the zest of oranges, limes or lemons to give it that punch and make you be able to continue to drink the cocktail for a good few weeks!
They’ve also got Sicilian pasta which I’m told makes the perfect al dente pasta every single time as well as olive oil flown all the way from a Sicilian Farm.
They can be paired perfeclty with their homemade sauces, purée and pesto’s.
You can also build your own Christmas Hamper which will include two cocktail bottles, two sauces, biscuits, a bottle of olive oil and six inidivdual Sicilian desserts. You can even add Prosecco and wine to make the ultimate Christmas gift!
Plus there are handmade fresh pastries daily including lemon pastry, chocolate cannolo, pistachio cannoli or chocolate aragostine which I can liken to a Nutella-filled mini croissant but better – if you can believe that.
Get 10% off when you call 0161 834 7800 to order or when you order via Good Eats here (discount already applied). You can also order the full menu and anything from the shop on Deliveroo.
The deli is open Monday to Thursday at 5pm-9pm and on Friday through to Sunday from 12pm to 9pm.
