The 8th of March, every year, is International Women’s Day. A few years ago, I wouldn’t have even known there was an international holiday dedicated to women, never mind actively celebrate or participate on the day.

But, against the ever-developing backdrop of both the creative and political scene, this has changed – for the better. And Gramm are leading the way in the celebrations.

This 8th March, celebrate with Gramm; they’ll be occupying Off The Square for an evening of talks and a social mixer. With 5 guest speakers, this night will introduce you to women with a strong presence in the community and success in the creative industry.

The first event hosted by @l__gramm, Gramm Talks will be a safe space for women to voice their experiences & views with no judgement.

It’ll be followed by a mixer – where you can get to know some amazing women and network to your heart’s content!

First up on the roster, is Vicky Grout:
“An established & well-respected photographer from London, Vicky has shot the likes of J Hus, Jorja Smith, Stormzy, Aitch, Doja Cat & Slowthai. You name them – she’s shot them.”

Next up, Meme Gold:
“Creator and designer for her clothing brand, ‘MeMe Gold,’  Meme’s hand made designs have been worn by the likes of Maya Jama, Princess Nokia, Ms Banks and Ella Eyre. When she is not dressing boss women, you can catch her spreading vibes on her radio show at NTS.”

Sophie Allen:
“With over 8 years in the creative & fashion industry, Sophie now manages all marketing activity for contemporary streetwear retailer Sevenstore, managing all brand awareness projects and activations for the likes of Nike, Adidas, and Gramm.”

Daisy Adams:
“DJ and radio host from Manchester, Daisy provides a platform for upcoming talent in her hometown. After the success of her breakfast show on Unity Radio, she now has her own spot at Reform Radio, bringing the freshest sounds from the city!”

Joey Darlin:
“Plus size model & influencer from Manchester, Joey spreads a very positive message about body confidence and mental health. She also showcases her amazing streetwear influenced looks on her socials.”

This unmissable event, where all are welcome, will be located at Off The Square, with authentic Caribbean food provided by Pull Up, and sounds by Manchester’s best female DJs. Be there or be (off the) square.
