Well I hope y’all had an enjoyable Christmas Day? Eat too much? Drink too much? Your Nan fart too much? Yeah, well that’s it for another year. Forget about it and concentrate on some of these…

New Year’s Eve
Monday 31st December
So every year pretty much everyone I know likes to take supreme pride in exclaiming New Year’s Eve to be a proper shit night and so instead they’re going to stay in and watch Gary Barlow on ITV as he frantically tries to secure a knighthood before the next tax year. Well, I’m telling you now – New Year’s is never as bad as you remember and it is actually very possible to, dare I say it, enjoy yourself. There’s LOADS going on including Ultimate Power at the Albert Hall, a massive Come As You Are extravaganza at The Refuge and even a massive Ball Room at Dive NQ. Get the low down below…

January Restaurant Deals
Starting Tuesday 1st January
Most people are absolutely brassic in January, what with the expense of Christmas and the fact that you Nan can only ever manage to write a cheque for 15 quid regardless of Inflation, Brexit or the fact that it barely even covers a bottle of vodders nowadays. Well fear not, all of your favourite restaurants and bars are offering some brilliant deals this January so you can still eat and drink out and not have to sell a kidney to that dodgy bloke down the pub. Again there’s LOADS – check them out below…

Deflected & Glitterbox NYD @ Victoria Warehouse
Tuesday 1st January
Who the hell wants to go out on New Year’s Day? Well, lots of people actually – and there’s good reason – Deflected & Glitterbox are hitting up Victoria Warehouse and it’s going to be proper good. Screw the first day of work, turn up half-cut and make a statement about how the rest of 2019 is going to go. You can’t beat Glitterbox for pure, unadulterated disco brilliance, and once you throw Deflected in there too – you know it’s going to be the best start to 2019 imaginable.

The Nutcracker @ Bridgewater Hall
Wednesday 2nd & Thursday 3rd January
Even though it sounds like something a pervert would type in on PornHub, The Nutcracker is in fact a lovely bit of ballet – one that pretty much everyone will have heard of but few will know what it’s all about. Well, I’m one of them – so I’m just going to assume that it’s about some sort of princess in Russia who likes Christmas and so dances about a lot. Am I even close? Maybe I’ll watch it this week at the Bridgewater Hall to find out, or maybe just watch that one with Barbie in it that’s on Netflix.
