In case you’re wondering, I reckon about 70% of the people I’ve met in Manchester make their first impressions on what people are wearing on their feet. I do it myself; if I see someone wearing a pair of nice adidas Superstar I’ll be much more inclined to chat to them than some chump wearing a pair of Lonsdale slip-ons from Sports Direct.
