This week’s special coming to Revs is hosted by Havana Rum who are bringing down their brand ambassador Max Waner. Max has over 25 years of experience in the drinks industry including travelling around the globe all in the name of booze.
The evening will let you discover the delicious Cancha. Now I’ve never heard of this so I’ve delved into the depths of the internet (Havana Club website) to find out just exactly what it is.
My research paid off because I now know it’s a cocktail made with honey, sparkling water, lime, plenty of ice and of course Havana Club 7. Sounds DELICIOUS.
It’s derived from the native area of Trinidad, Canchánchara and combines the best of Cuba’s natural resources: honey, lime and rum. Keeping it simple releases all the flavours of Havana Club 7 without overpowering the rum, exactly how a cocktail should be done.
You’ll learn all about the importance of bees and honey and make your own Cancha too!
Head’s up – make sure it’s bloody good. I went to the last rum club and managed to bag myself a full bottle to take home for having the best cocktail.
You’ll also be ran through the Dark Discoveries Rum Challenge which sounds incredibly mysterious but definitely a lot of fun.
