I know she can drive you up the wall, but you have a lot to thank your mum for including ruining her body, buying you stuff and generally putting up with your shit for twenty-something years.

On Saturday 30th, you can get tickets to an exclusive floristry workshop at the Trafford centre where parents can create their own bouquets whilst children make a flower crown before posing for a picture in the photo booth!
Sunday Roast at The Counter House
The Counter House is Ancoats’ latest neighbourhood dining venue on Cutting Room Square – and boy, is it lovely. They really have every one of your bases covered from delicious Anocats coffee, to a delicious brunch menu, a sophisticated evening menu and roast dinners that are simply to die for. If you’ve not tried the new Japanese inspired Sunday Roast at Cottonopolis yet then I’m afraid that you’ve thus far missed out on quite possibly the greatest Sunday experience in your life. Their Wagyu rump is wonderful, and their Salt & Pepper Roast Potatoes divine. So what better place to take your mum this Mother’s Day than Cottons – they’ll throw in a FREE sushi plate or dessert for your good ‘old mam too as a cheeky little Brucey Bonus! Winning.
Gin Journey Manchester
The Gin Journey Manchester will take you on an exploration into the history of gin and its connection with the great city of the North while serving up some local delicacies. Visit a range of different venues and sample a gin made in the heart of Chorlton by a gin-loving couple, visit iconic Mancunian buildings and then finish up in the trendy Northern Quarter. You and mum will enjoy five samples of gin, five cocktails, a chauffeured drive from bar to bar, a distillery tour and a ridiculous amount of fun.
Afternoon Tea Buffet at The Lowry Hotel
The Lowry Hotel have combined two of my favourite things this Mother’s Day by taking their famous afternoon tea and doing it buffet style. Take your pick from a delicious selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones (with cream and jam, naturally) and one of the beautiful loose leaf teas by Tea from the Manor. Mum will love it and you will too.
Name a Cocktail after your mum at Albert’s Didsbury
Albert’s Didsbury has launched a competition for one customer to have a cocktail named in honour of their Mum. Whether it be a Brenda, Bella or even Mrs Brown – a fabulous Didsbury Gin cocktail will be named in honour of a local Mum. The winner will be invited to toast the big day with her cocktail on Mothering Sunday. All you have to do is follow Albert’s on one of their social channels and tag in your mum and tell them why she deserves to win. The winner will be announced on Monday 25th March!
Mums Eat for Free at Eat New York
Eat York in the heart of the NQ is a great place to take your mum this Mother’s Day if she partial to a bagel or two. Tuck into something from their fantastic menu such as a juicy burger or the world-famous house pastrami Ruben which is three days in the making. Mum will eat for free when you book in advance, and it is 50% off for you and the rest of the family after 5 pm. Enjoy!
Mum’s Bowl for Free at Dog Bowl
Nice and simple this one and a lot of fun (if your mum is keen for this sort of thing). Book you and your mama in for a bowl this Sunday 31st and she’ll bowl for FREE! It’s just a shame that she’s probably not very good and will end up in the gutter every time.

If your mum is someone who likes things as no-fuss as possible, show her a good time at Dive NQ. Mother’s Day Bottomless Brunch at Bay Horse
Can your mum drink you under the table? Well, you need not look much further than the Bay Horse Mother’s Day bottomless brunch. Available on 30th and 31st March, they are adding two gin cocktails by Jindea to the offering alongside the usual drinks (prosecco, Bloody Mary, Irish coffee, mimosa, house wine, beer, hot/cold drinks). This will set you back just £30 per person which allows you to get your fill of these drinks for two whole hours between 11 am and 1 pm. You are your mum and going to love it!
String Quartet at FoodWell
If you haven’t been to FoodWell on a weekend then it is safe to say you haven’t truly lived. At least you have a mighty fine opportunity to go this Mother’s Day though, as they have a lovely String Quartet on which I’m sure posh mums will absolutely love. Get stuck into their brunch or one of their outrageously delicious roast dinners while you are at it or even a yoga class if your mum is happy to touch her toes!

If you and your mum fancy something a bit different this year, then I strongly recommend you book in with Mama Pacha at Sandinista to delve into some authentic Peruvian tapas. Get stuck into a couple Pisco Sours while you are at it (the national drink of Peru) as well as receiving a free G&T for your mother when you book in advance.
The Roast Dinner Platter + Free Prosecco at The Refuge
Enjoy a perfect Sunday dinner at The Refuge – voted the best Sunday Roast in Manchester. Their renowned Sunday Roast platter is the one and makes the ultimate family feast to share with your mum on Mother’s Day. The roast platter for two comes with beef, suckling pig, and half a chicken, as well as roast potatoes, carrot and swede, Vimto red cabbage, buttered green beans and leaves, Yorkshire puddings, and cauliflower cheese on the side.
Bloom and Wild Masterclass at Harvey Nichols
I love Bloom & Wild. If you haven’t heard of them they are a nationwide online florist that makes arrangements and sends then in flat boxes which can go through your letterbox. Amazing right? Harvey Nichols has partnered up with them and The Old Curiosity Distillery for a workshop where you can enjoy some flower arranging and some amazing colour changing gins while you’re at it. Pair your flowers to the botanicals in the drink or even the other way around to match the flowers with the amazing colours in your magical gin!
Free Fizz for mum at Pier Eight
Pier Eight at The Lowry is one of Salford’s best-kept secrets and one of my favourite places to eat ever. The food is fantastic and full of surprises. The restaurant is all about sustainability too with their very own garden on the roof of The Lowry which grows a variety of herbs, fruits, veg and spices. You’ll love it, and if you book in for Mother’s Day you’ll get a free glass of fizz too!
Three Course Roast and a Bottle of Fizz at The Chorlton Green
If you are a Chorlton native and want to stay out of the hustle and bustle of the city centre this Mother’s Day then The Chorlton Green is the place for you. If you haven’t been, it is a trendy wine bar with food by Eat New York and on the 31st they are offering a £25 three-course roast dinner with a complimentary bottle of fizz thrown in for good measure. Booking in advance is required.
The Taste of Tattu at Tattu
Dine between 12 pm – 3 pm and enjoy Tattu’s daytime set menu Taste of Tattu, featuring a delicious selection of small plates, dishes from the wok and desserts priced £23 for two courses and £28 for three courses. Their decadent cocktail menu is the perfect place to enjoy Mother’s Day with a touch of sparkle from the Tattu Twinkle or a sip of something stronger like the Cherry Blossom Negroni. The winter à la carte menu will be available from 12 pm serving a feast that’s fit for a queen from dim sum through to delicate desserts
3 Course Dinner by Aiden Byrne at Restaurant MCR
Make Mother’s Day extra special this year with a bespoke three-course menu by Aiden Byrne at designed for this day only at restaurant MCR. On arrival, you’ll receive a glass of Crémant sparkling wine and just in case the meal isn’t enough, all mothers will receive a complimentary gift bag from Kiehls. 3 Course Sunday Roast for £25 at Brasserie Abode
The roast dinner at Brasserie Abode is the stuff of legend, and this Mother’s Day they are proper sorting you out by offering it with a starter and a main for just £25 per person which is a bargain if I’ve ever seen one! Choose from succulent roast beef or shoulder of lamb with all the trimmings or roasted cod or the pumpkin tortellini for vegetarians with delicious starters and desserts either side. Pair this with a bit of live music and the beautiful environment of Brasserie Abode and you have the perfect Mother’s Day celebration right there.
Brunch at Zouk
On top of their already fantastic Indian brunch menu, Zouk has launched a second mezze-brunch which is designed to be shared in a large group. This includes a selection of cheeses, halloumi, sujok sausages, jams, Turkish breads to name but a few items which you pick and choose to make your brunch unique. This is great for a larger family and what’s more, it is currently 50% off until the end of the month, which means it will cost just £5 per person. What’s not to love?
3 Courses for £30 at Mamucium
The three-course menu, devised by head chef Andrew Green is available from £30 per person and includes a glass of Prosecco or soft drink alternative, and the signature-house cocktail, Pankhurst’s Revolution will be served to every mother on arrival, making the occasion just that little bit sweeter. Enjoy dishes such as Manchester Smokehouse Salmon with cucumber, beetroot, seaweed and rye crisp; early Yorkshire asparagus with truffle and honey; roast shoulder of Herdwick lamb with rosemary or locally reared beef followed by a range of delicious desserts.
Mother’s Day Sunday Service at Albert’s Schloss
Schloss has rolled out a few specials just for Mother’s Day such as pan-roasted lamb rump, tomato, chilli & mint jam, sesame broccoli and Pavlova with strawberry compote, Chantilly crème & fresh strawberries as well as a couple of cocktails to get stuck into. What’s more, there will be live music galore with a set from DJ Paulette as well as Jazz Quintet and Fell Good Choir. Come on down – it’s going to be a laugh.
