The Women’s EUROs begin this week, with 16 teams from across the continent battling it out to be crowned European champions. England’s chances of winning are actually quite high too – with an unbeaten run stretching back to September 2021 and, not forgetting, the fact that they’re on home turf.
The games have been spread out across England, with Old Trafford, City’s Academy Stadium and Leigh Sports Village hosting games in Greater Manchester, and the final being hosted at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 31st July.
So, where can you watch the games? Well, the most obvious answer is that you can head on down to the stadiums and watch them live – with tickets still available for many of the matches. Fancy watching Italy take on Belgium for £20? Or the Netherlands take on Portugal? Head on over to the UEFA site to get your tickets…
Alternatively, many of the city’s bars will be showing the games throughout July, including Nell’s at KAMPUS who are going EUROs crazy showing each of England’s initial group games, and then, depending on the results, the Quarter Finals, Semis and Final.
England’s group states are:
Wednesday 6th July at 8pm
England vs Austria
Monday 11th July at 8pm
England vs Norway
Friday 15th July at 8pm
England vs Northern Ireland
Also showing the games will be a brand-new shipping container FAN VILLAGE in Piccadilly Gardens, specially constructed for the EUROs. The area will include a big screen area, food and drink traders and public space, with the potential for the structure to then be retained for events over the coming months, including Christmas.
Other pubs showing the games include The Beagle in Chorlton, Port Street Beer House in the Northern Quarter and Brewdog Outpost near the universities. The Brotherhood near the Central Library will be changing its name to ‘The Sisterhood’ to celebrate the EUROs.
Down on Deansgate, the new sports bar The Box will be showing the games, as well as Sawyers Arms, and Bierkeller in the Printworks. Down in Sale, The Brooklands Tap are screening matches, Stretford’s The Hive are too and The Woodstock on Barlow Moor Road.
