I don’t know if you knew this, but if you managed to get up to the roof of The Printworks in the city centre, you’d find more than 100,000 honey bees on their brilliant rooftop garden, all grafting away amongst the 4 beehives up there.

Housing between 30,000 and 40,000 bees each, the hives have been used in the past to help raise money for charities Forever Manchester, The Booth Centre and Volition through selling jars of its hard-working bee’s honey, but now – there’s more…

The Printworks have launched an ‘ADOPT A BEE‘ campaign to raise much-needed funds for Greater Manchester’s communities, with proceeds going to the Forever Manchester charity – one which raises money to fund and support community activity across the region – hoping to make them stronger and happier with the help of activities that bring people together.

For just £2 each or £25 for one of its four Queen Bees, you can help support the people of Greater Manchester and become an adoptive parent to these busy little bees.

Adam Jackson, Marketing Manager at Printworks, said: “It’s been a tough time for everyone, but especially so for our underprivileged communities in Greater Manchester who have been hit hardest by local lockdown restrictions. With the country now in its third lockdown, we want to help lift everyone’s spirits.

“With the bee such an iconic symbol in Manchester, we wanted to give Mancunians the chance to adopt their own or give their loved ones a unique gift that also helps our local community when they need it most.”
