Liam Gallagher has been confirmed as the new ambassador for Manchester music charity Brighter Sound.

The Oasis frontman and solo artist will support the charity as it works to help more young people, emerging artists and future music professionals build careers in music, particularly those who might otherwise face barriers getting started.

Based in Manchester, Brighter Sound has spent 25 years supporting new talent through workshops, mentoring, live events and creative projects. The charity works with more than 1000 creatives every year, helping them develop the skills, confidence and industry connections to take the next step.

Gallagher’s ambassadorial role begins with a prize draw offering fans the chance to win pairs of his sold-out adidas LG Achille SPZL trainers.

The trainers launched during last summer’s Oasis Live 25 tour and sold out immediately. The draw includes 40 pairs of the Japanese exclusive darker brown design and 95 pairs of the regular light brown design, with limited quantities available in UK sizes 3.5 to 12.

Fans can enter through fundraising platform Zeffy, with all money raised going to Brighter Sound. Entries are open until 11pm on Monday 13 July.

The prize draw is the first stage of a wider collaboration between Gallagher and Brighter Sound, which will include the creation of a new direct-to-artists fund for rising musicians in Greater Manchester.

Proceeds from the campaign will help support the fund, which will offer financial support to early-career artists developing new work and taking the next steps in their careers. Further details are expected later this year.

Liam Gallagher said: “I’m honoured to be an Ambassador for Brighter Sound and support the new generation of creatives launch their music projects. We need more help for the arts, especially for the working class.”

Kate Lowes, Director at Brighter Sound, added: “It’s a real honour to be working with Liam and his team on this special prize draw, and to welcome him as an ambassador for Brighter Sound. Manchester is an incredible place for music – and Liam and Oasis are a huge part of that story. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to making sure that more amazing talent continues to grow from the city and find its place on the world stage.”

The partnership follows another major year for Brighter Sound. Earlier in 2026, the charity led the first BRITs Fringe alongside the BRIT Awards’ move to Manchester.

The programme, titled Manchester Seen and Heard, brought together artists, industry figures and audiences while showcasing Greater Manchester’s grassroots music scene.
