The date for this year’s Manchester Day has been announced. Council bosses have confirmed that the huge annual celebration of all things Mancunian will take place on Saturday 27 July, 2024.
This year’s festival is set to build on the success of last year’s ‘Manchester Day On Holiday’ promenade-style event, which saw performers scattered through the city centre streets with beach-themed attractions.
Whilst this year’s theme is yet to be revealed, visitors can expect festivities all around the city, with the council currently putting the schedule of events together.
In a statement, council leader Pat Karney said: “Manchester Day has been a highlight in the city’s events calendar for well over a decade now and the feel-good buzz it creates across the city on the day is absolutely fantastic – and best of all, it’s free!”
He added: “We know how much everyone loves Manchester’s favourite day of the year and can’t wait to spend it once again celebrating the best city in the world with the very best people in the world – and that’s everyone who calls Manchester their home.”
