The Rat & Pigeon will host a three-day Pulp pop-up, complete with a jukebox programmed by Jarvis Cocker himself...
Pulp are taking over a Manchester pub for three days to coincide with their huge headline show at Wythenshawe Park.
The Sheffield band will transform the Rat & Pigeon on Back Piccadilly into the Pulp Pop-Up Pub from Friday 28 to Sunday 30 August.
The takeover will feature limited-edition merchandise, competitions and rare Pulp memorabilia borrowed from the band’s archive, while the pub’s jukebox has been specially programmed by Jarvis Cocker.
Fans will also be able to see test pressings of the band’s forthcoming live album, Live!, with live music and other events planned across the weekend.
The pop-up will open from midday to 7pm on Friday, midday until late on Saturday and midday to 2pm on Sunday.
A post shared on Cocker’s and Rough Trade Records’ Instagram accounts read: “Do you want something different? Do you want to revitalise your social life? Do you want to get drunk on possibility? (responsibly) Do you want to hear some really good music coming out of a juke box? Do you want to learn something interesting? Yes?
“Sounds like you need to visit the Pulp Pop-Up Pub at the Rat & Pigeon, 33 Back Piccadilly, City Centre, Manchester, M1 1HP… If you have a Thirst For Knowledge – this is the place for you. Bottoms up!”
The takeover coincides with Pulp’s headline show at Wythenshawe Park on Friday 28 August, their only major UK headline concert of 2026.
