After years of delays and speculation, Soho House has finally confirmed an opening date for its Manchester debut: Tuesday 25 November. It marks the first time the international members’ club has planted its flag in the North of England – a move that’s been whispered about since the plans were announced more than four years ago.

Set inside the old Granada Studios building in the St John’s neighbourhood, the new House will spread across five floors with a line-up of facilities that go far beyond cocktails and co-working. Members will get access to an outdoor rooftop pool (the first of its kind in the city) complete with loungers and a dedicated bar. A spiral staircase leads up to a late-night bar and live music space, designed to keep things moving after the sun goes down.

The eighth floor will focus on food: casual lounge spaces for all-day dining alongside a members’ restaurant for something more formal. Below that, a flexible events space on the seventh floor comes fitted with a central bar and DJ booth, set to host a regular programme of gatherings, talks and parties curated for the membership.

For those looking to make a night of it, 22 bedrooms occupy the sixth floor. They range from compact “Cosy” rooms up to larger suites and even an 80-square-metre two-bedroom apartment – essentially a private flat within the building.

Wellness has always been a big part of the Soho House model and Manchester will be no exception. The gym will offer a full weights area, studios for classes, and recovery spaces including a steam room and sauna that open onto a balcony. Changing rooms come with showers, lounge areas and vanity spaces to make the post-workout wind-down feel less like a chain gym, more like an extension of the House itself.

Membership to the Manchester House will set you back £2,400 per year, while the “Every House” option – allowing entry to more than 40 Soho House sites globally – costs £3,450 annually. Under-27s get a reduced rate, while “Founder Memberships” for Manchester will be invite-only and open later in the year.

Membership applications are open now, but require more than just a bank card: applicants are vetted on their backgrounds and contributions to creative culture. Those accepted will be able to bring up to three guests at a time, and enjoy daily programming of events designed for networking, learning and entertainment.

The interiors will nod to the 1950s and 60s heritage of Granada Studios, with a mix of bespoke and vintage furniture pieces chosen to reference the building’s broadcasting past. Think layered textures, muted palettes, and an atmosphere that Soho House regulars will recognise from its sites in London, New York, Barcelona and beyond.
