The shortlist for the 2024 This Is Manchester Awards has been revealed, celebrating the incredible talent from across Greater Manchester.

Now in its seventh year, the awards shine a light on the best of the best in the region with categories representing the night-time economy, entertainment, arts and culture, technology, live events and fashion.

The full shortlist reads like a Mancunian who’s who and features huge names from individuals to charities and businesses. This year’s standouts include Manchester fashion powerhouse Nadine Merabi, Carl Morris, founder of sustainable clothing initiative Cress, Chef Zisis Giannouras of Fenix and loads more.

Fenix is nominated at the This Is Manchester Awards

Restaurants, bars and hotels from across the world of hospitality have all received nominations, including newcomers MAYA and Fenix, chicken legends Yard & Coop, Italian faves San Carlo and Northern Quarter speakeasy The Fitzgerald.

Adding to that, many individuals and organisations are nominated for making marked contributions to the fabric of the city and beyond.

The 2024 edition also marks the second year of the Dianne Oxberry Special Impact Award, created in partnership with the late presenter’s family and close friends, with the shortlist championing three worthy recipients. The winner will be chosen in partnership with Dianne’s husband Ian Hindle and trustees of The Dianne Oxberry Trust, an ovarian cancer awareness charity set up in her name after her tragic death in 2019.

Hundreds of businesses and individuals submitted detailed nominations, which were reviewed independently by the judging panel, which was presided over by chief judge Nazir Afzal, former Chief Crown Prosecutor for NW England.

This year’s winners will be announced at the ceremony at AO Arena on Thursday 14 November and will be hosted by Jenny Powell, Scott Thomas and Brooke Vincent. You can find the full shortlist here.
