What the hell is 'Escape to Freight Island'??

You'll probably have seen this poster dotted around your social channels this week...

On Monday morning Steven, one of the Finest Directors, received a message off Luke Unabomber. It was 9:24am so obviously I was beavering away at work and definitely not still in bed with a slight hangover.

Anyway, the message contained this image – and nothing else…

So, what is it? Well, if you go to the website at the bottom of the poster it takes you to a site where you can pop your email address in to get more information.

It also contains the following text…

Let’s all meet at Platform 15 and begin our escape
Spaces are limited so please reserve your seat

Now, Platform 15 at Piccadilly Train Station is one of the ones that were promised to be added as part of the ‘Northern Hub’ upgrades to our rail network – but I still don’t think it’s even been completed.

Could it be a reference to the Mayfield Depot opposite? A depot with a couple of platforms up on the roof? Could it be a magical platform that you access through a brick wall?

WE DON’T KNOW. But we’re excited nonetheless.

Personally I think it’s going to be a HUGE end-of-lockdown Summer Party on a massive Freight Train that someone has bought. It’ll take us all the way to Liverpool and back again really, really slowly while we all party on it.

What do you reckon?
