Manchester International Festival (MIF) returns to the city in exactly one month, opening on Thursday 4th July in Cathedral Gardens with Yoko Ono’s incredible world première – ‘Bells for Peace’.
Yoko’s vision is for thousands of voices and an orchestra of bells to come together to ring and sing out for peace in Cathedral Gardens – and you’re invited to be part of it!
‘Come and send a message of peace to the world. The beauty of this piece will break the sky and more. Ring for peace! PEACE is POWER! I love you all.’ – Yoko Ono
Be part of this totally free event, ring out for peace and welcome the world to Manchester – kicking off MIF19 in celebratory style.
MIF will be bringing 18 extraordinary days of world premières and special events at venues all over the city, including:
An electrifying theatrical journey into the heart and soul of contemporary South Africa created by Idris Elba and Kwame Kwei-Armah – with the audience at the centre of the action. (4–13 July, Upper Campfield Market Hall)
A spellbinding mix of theatre, choreography, music, architectural design and projection mapping from an all-star international creative team. (5–14 July, Mayfield)
One of just three UK dates in 2019 from the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and spectacular live performer – and with limited tickets available, book now to avoid disappoinment. (4 July, Castlefield Bowl)
