Footasylum has opened a new 18,000 sq ft flagship in the Arndale, marking a major investment by the retailer in its home city.
The new ground-floor store at Exchange Court officially opened at 9am on Friday 27 March, replacing its previous footprint with a significantly larger space and signalling a long-term commitment to one of the UK’s busiest shopping destinations.
Inside, the new flagship has been designed to bring Footasylum’s digital-first identity into a physical setting, with a line-up spanning major sportswear brands including Nike, ASICS, HOKA, Saucony and New Balance, alongside exclusives such as Monterrain, Forena and Epic Kid.
The opening has created 14 jobs and comes with a new 20-year lease at the Arndale, underlining the scale of the brand’s investment in central Manchester.

To mark launch weekend, Footasylum is hosting a programme of community-focused activations around the opening, including sets from Manchester DJs, in-store appearances from Crep Protect, and collaborations with adidas and Slim Chickens. Giveaways, games and influencer appearances are also planned across Exchange Square.
The store opening comes as Footasylum continues to expand both in the UK and internationally, following growth across Europe and the Gulf region through new retail and distribution partnerships.
Howard Tattersall, Chief Marketing Officer at Footasylum, said: “Manchester is at the very heart of Footasylum’s DNA, and this flagship is about more than just space—it’s about creating a true streetwear destination that connects our community, culture and product in one place.”
