It’s the run-up to Christmas so that package holiday to Mexico is most probably a pipe dream. But don’t let that put you off, I've got a solution...

If you close your eyes really tight and wear a bubble coat over your bikini, you could pretend you were in Cancun for an entire week at El Capo. Seriously. And it would cost you a quarter of the price if you could just get past the cold.

Monday Night Steak Out
Nothing screams #MeatFreeMonday more than a huge hulking piece of steak, and at El Capo, Mondays will see the likes of an Argentinian sharing steak for two, two sides and a bottle of wine all for £12.50 each. I’d have to recommend the chorizo mac and cheese as one of your sides. Easy, cheesy, meaty bliss. Take that vegetarians.

Taco Tuesday
A Tuesday without a Taco is like a Friday without beers. You will find £1 tacos every Tuesday at El Capo, and you can choose from all the authentic fillings such as pork carnitas (slow roasted pork), pulled beef brisket, chicken, kale, mushroom & Manchego cheese or Chipotle panga (white fish). Served with hall your favourite salsas, Taco Tuesday is just the treat to keep you going through the week.

Wing It Wednesday
If you like it, then you should have put a wing on it. Yup, that’s right, Wednesdays are all about wings and to celebrate this in style, El Capo sells them for 50p each. Enjoy chunky buffalo cut chicken wings with a wide range of sauces such as Green Tomatillo, Smoked Chipotle, Peach Jalapeño and Diablo which comes with a hefty four chilli rating. Oh and you can have dry rub if you’re boring.

Thursday Happy Hour
After work drinks like you’ve never had them before are what you will find on Thursdays. The Happy Hour at El Capo runs 5-7pm Thursdays and Fridays, and you can get stuck into:

£2.50 sol
£2.50 tequila
£5 cocktails
£3.50 house spirit mixer
£16 bottle of prosecco

Just make sure you’ve got your plans in place for a very hungover Friday.

Friday DIY Tequila tasting
It is safe to say that El Capo can boast one of the most extensive and impressive menus of Tequila and Mescal this side of Mexico City. With upwards of 140 different tequilas and almost 20 mescals (smoked tequila), you could quickly put a little DIY evening together and taste your way through the menu.

Saturday Night Out
Grab your squad and get your dancing shoes on for a Saturday night at El Capo. Expect the sounds of hip-hop and all the R&B you love to get down to at the weekend. Kick things off with a delicious pitcher of Margarita and get your freak on.

Sunday Service
As we already know, Mexico is a Catholic country, and therefore it would be rude not to go to a Sunday service. Lucky for us heathens, at El Capo they are heavy on the junk food and booze and light on the plainsong and Hallelujahs. For £14 you can get your jaws in a burrito or Quesadilla with nachos, wings, 2 tapas and two sides. Hell. Yeah. Be sure to try the Jalapeno poppers and the pan-fried prawns- they’re worth renouncing Christ for.
