To celebrate Snoop Dogg’s Manchester International Festival headline performance of Doggystyle this Friday, Manchester Evening News Citylife’s Bar of the Year 2010, the NY speakeasy style Black Dog Ballroom has been renamed, with an extra G added to its distinctive neon sign.
The owners of the newly christened Black Dogg Ballroom have invited him to meet Bruce, the bar’s mascot black Patterdale terrier, after the show in the bar’s secret members’ pin protected Ballroom.
Ross Mackenzie and Jobe Fergusson comment: ‘When we heard Snoop Dogg was coming to Manchester we knew straight away we had to rename the bar in his honour. We think that the Black Dogg Ballroom is the perfect venue for Snoop’s aftershow party and Bruce is dying to meet him.’
