Following his triumphant turn during the ‘Summer In The City’ BBQ & Beats takeover last month, Big Grillie Style is back once again providing a naughty weekend feast in the courtyard of The Refuge.
The Come As You Are Weekenders are legendary around these parts – as are Big Grillie Style’s burgers – so it seems like the perfect collaboration to get the party started. Both Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th will see the signature style of dirty BBQ food available from 2pm in the Courtyard.
Alex Applegarth, owner of Big Grillie Style will be serving up two spectacular burger creations at the event, The Una-Burger and The Piggie Smalls, alongside a couple of hot dogs and of course – plenty of veggie options.
The Una-Burger, made to represent The Refuge’s famous DJ owners – The Unabombers (Luke Cowdrey and Justin Crawford) is a classic cheeseburger paired with pickles, mustard, and burnt butter black pepper mayo. Whereas The Piggy Smalls is a bacon cheeseburger with pickles, pulled pork and a drizzle of screaming BBQ sauce
The Big Grillie menu will also include two of the finest hot dogs: The Pig Narstie topped with ketchup, mustard and onions; and The Re-Fugee-la-la with pulled pork crispy onions and BBQ sauce.
Alex, the mastermind behind Big Grillie Style said: “I’m super proud to be part of the Come As You Are Weekender to showcase a unique take on American cuisine once again at The Refuge.”
Luke Cowdrey, DJ and restaurateur said: “The Come As You Are Weekender reunites all the good vibes of the city and we are really happy to have the addition of Alex this year. Meaning we can create a party that won’t be forgotten combining quality DJ’s, food and drink, further showcasing the ever-evolving power of The Refuge”.
As well as incredible food, the party continues straight into the basement of The Refuge, kicking off with Horse Meat Disco on Friday night, Joey Negro on Saturday night – both being ticketed events.
The Come As You Are Weekender will then be closed by Homoelectric, bringing a love-intensity to the Courtyard that has to be seen to be believed; and local label Sprechen Music in the basement with a phenomenal party open to everyone, free entrance.
