Manchester-born burger brand Burgerism has announced a month-long partnership with The Brain Tumour Charity to mark Brain Tumour Awareness Month, with fundraising taking place in memory of former team member Rachel Field.

Throughout March, the streetfood favourite will donate 25p from every burger sold at its new eat-in restaurant at Piccadilly Gardens. Delivery partner Deliveroo will match the 25p donation for every burger ordered through its platform, and customers will also be given the option to add a further 50p donation at checkout.

The campaign follows the loss of Rachel Field to a brain tumour last year. Described by the company as a much-loved colleague and a key part of its journey, the fundraising effort has been organised in her honour.

Mark Murphy, CEO and co-founder of Burgerism, said: “This is a cause that’s incredibly close to all of us at Burgerism. Losing Rachel last year was devastating for our team. She was a huge part of our journey and is missed every day. Supporting The Brain Tumour Charity during Brain Tumour Awareness Month is a way to honour her memory and stand alongside others facing the diagnosis.”

He added: “We’re proud to be partnering with Deliveroo to amplify the impact and we hope our community will get behind us – whether that’s by ordering a burger, adding 50p at checkout, or simply helping us spread awareness.”

In addition to the per-burger donations, Burgerism has pledged further contributions if more than 10,000 burgers are sold over the course of the month.

Evie Wragg, Community Fundraiser for The Brain Tumour Charity, said: “A huge thank you for all the support from Burgerism, it means so much for the work we do for everyone affected by a brain tumour.”

She added: “This kind of support helps us reach new audiences, share vital symptoms information, and continue to fund world-leading research, support and information services. We’re incredibly appreciative of everyone involved.”

The Brain Tumour Charity is the UK’s largest dedicated brain tumour charity, funding research to increase survival and improve treatment options, while raising awareness of symptoms to support earlier diagnosis. The organisation also provides support and information services for those affected by brain tumours.

The fundraising initiative runs throughout March at Burgerism’s Piccadilly Gardens restaurant, with additional donations available via Deliveroo orders.
