Beloved Curry Mile restaurant Mughli has been announced as one of the kitchens in a huge new city centre food hall, House of Social, which is set to open this summer.
Mughli have spent the last 30-plus years serving authentic Punjabi cuisine in Rusholme. Much-loved for their grilled meats and flavoursome curries, as well as ‘street eats’ style snacks, this will be the first time they’ve had a permanent presence in the city centre.

A family-run venture, the restaurant was first opened by local legend ‘Uncle Peter’ in 1991. Now owned by his sons, who have put their own stamp on the business, they are looking forward to a new chapter within House of Social.
They’ve been recognised as ‘one of Manchester’s best restaurants’ and one of Manchester’s best places to eat’ by The Telegraph and BBC Good Food Guide respectively.
Diners can expect to see old-school favourites from their Wilmslow Road restaurant, as well as crowd-pleasing dishes from various pop-ups and collaborations over the years.

Shaz Arshad, one of the brothers behind Mughli, said of the new venture: ‘We’ve always had a lot of love from Manchester city centre throughout the years, and it’s great to be able to bring it home to House of Social. We’ve looked at a lot of sites and spots; this has been on the cards for a long time and finally we’ve found somewhere which we feel matches our aspirations’.
House of Social is currently under construction, and when completed will be a 12,000 square feet site close to HOME, First Street and Deansgate Locks. It’s due to open this summer, with further food and drink vendors to be announced in the next few months.
