DJ Danny Krivit Set to Bring New York Disco Vibes to Cottonopolis Asahi Launch

Cottonopolis is set to become flagship Bar for Japanese craft lager Asahi and to celebrate, they have drafted in legendary DJ Danny Krivit from NYC and commissioned a unique sculpture by Manchester-based artist Lazarian.

Flying the flag for the Northern bar scene, Cottonopolis have been selected as the flagship site for the Japanese imported lager, Asahi. Brewed with the original Japanese recipe, the lager fits seamlessly into Cottonopolis’ offering of a Japanese inspired menu and award-winning drinks list inspired by Japanese Idioms.

To celebrate the collaboration the Northern Quarter venue has drafted one of NYC’s best ever selectors to headline the launch party.

On the 1st of December, Cottonopolis will mark the launch by inviting DJ, Producer, Remixer, Editor and one-third of Body & Soul Mr Danny Krivit to bring a touch of New York disco to Manchester.

Krivit has played a huge part in evolving the nightlife of New York City and one of the very few people who can boast residencies in the most renowned clubs in New York over the past 40 years including Area, Laces, Studio 54, Tracks, The Tunnel, The World, Twilo, The Warehouse, The Loft and The Paradise Garage.

Support will be provided by High Hoops and an array of Manchester’s best DJ’s who will be taking the party through until 3 am. The party kicks off at 10 pm with giveaways from Asahi throughout the night, it’s free entry so get down early to ensure you get in.

As well as celebrating with a huge party, Asahi and Cottonopolis have commissioned Manchester based architectural decorator Lazerian to create a fierce and modern statement piece which will be hung from the ceiling and bar complementing Cottonopolis’ industrial and engineering inspired interior.

Lazerian’s work has featured in numerous international publications, private collections and public galleries such as Museo Poldi Pezzoli (Milan), Manchester City Art Gallery and Moscow Design Museum.
