A Taste of Altrincham will return from Friday 27 February to Sunday 8 March 2026 with an expanded programme of events celebrating the town’s independent food and drink scene.
The 10-day festival will bring together workshops, tastings, talks and live demonstrations hosted by venues across the town centre, alongside a strong line-up of family-friendly activities.
Organisers say this year’s programme has been designed to highlight not just what is on the plate, but the people and skills behind Altrincham’s hospitality businesses.

Among the headline events is Blanchflower Does Dinner, a rare evening service from the popular bakery and café, serving a four-course menu centred on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Wine & Cheese Night at Alibi will pair five wines with five cheeses in an informal tasting event.
Talks and practical sessions form a core part of the schedule. In Conversation with Emma Thackray will see the founder of Hip Pop kombucha brand discuss how a kitchen experiment evolved into a nationally stocked drinks brand.
Shere Khan Kitchen will host a Samosa Chaat Workshop, giving participants the chance to learn how to prepare the Indian street food dish, while Amy Regan of Kit:ch will lead a Charcuterie Cup workshop focused on graze-style presentation.

Live competition arrives in the form of The Ultimate Altrincham Chef Challenge at Cheshire Cookery School, where two local chefs will compete in a mystery bag cook-off using locally sourced ingredients.
MOST Bakery will run both a Sourdough Class led by co-owner Matt, a finalist in the 2025 Baking Industry Awards, and a Patisserie Foundations workshop hosted by head pastry chef Laura.
Families are also firmly in focus, with craft workshops from OYEZ Arts and hands-on cookery sessions for children delivered by Cook Stars and Cheshire Cookery School. Young participants will be able to learn new skills and take part in practical activities across the week.
The festival will again host Altrincham’s Ultimate Pudding Competition, inviting amateur bakers to compete for the title of the town’s best dessert.

Elsewhere, events range from Waistline, Wine & Dine at Jenna Patties, combining Caribbean movement, food and storytelling, to specialist tastings including Sicilian Wine Tasting at Bar Etna and Spring Wine Tasting at Hive Stores.
Two Brothers Coffee will stage both a Coffee Cupping session and a Latte Art Throwdown, where baristas from across the town will compete in a knockout tournament.
Mandy White, Director at Altrincham BID, said: “A Taste of Altrincham has grown in its second year, and this programme really reflects the creativity and variety of our independent businesses. With events for families and food lovers, it’s a fantastic opportunity to explore the town and enjoy everything it has to offer.”
