A few weeks back, The Refuge hinted towards a brand new courtyard area called Waterhouse Way tucked away on an industrial hidden street.

The al-fresco dining area has now been completely redeveloped ready for outdoor dining and drinks as part of the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown and we popped down to see what you can expect.

The outdoor area is well-heated and completely covered with a huge fitted covering, making it one of a few places in the city that can remain open whatever the weather.

The area has now been completely transformed with tonnes of cheese plants and palm trees all soundtracked by the city’s finest DJs and selectors.

The menu consists of the classic Volta travel-inspired small plates, ranging from Smoked Feta with beetroot, hazelnuts, dill, and Lamb Shawarma.

They’ve even got some big sharers to tuck into too, like the massive Sunday Roast platter for two available to order at the weekend.

You’ll also find a new dessert menu and new additions to the drinks menu including a special ‘Refuge Lager’.

Guests at the Kimpton® Clocktower Hotel, which will is also now open again for essential business travel, will benefit from the brand-new refurbishment in the courtyard as well. Kimpton® Clocktower Hotel will be one of the few luxury hotels in the city that offers outdoor dining.

Bookings are highly recommended to avoid disappointment and can be made below.

Each booking has a two-hour slot and food must be purchased along with drinks. Seats will be limited for the foreseeable future to allow for physical distancing. Limited walk-ins available only during late evening at the weekend.
