Returning for winter 2022, the heated canopy and cosy courtyard outside The Stables Cafe at Heaton Park is providing visitors with a mini Christmas retreat.

A perfect pitstop on your winter walk, the canopy extends from the back to the front of The Stables, creating a mini Christmas market, featuring local food and drink vendors.

Catering in the courtyard is headed up by the Life Cafés & Resorts team that operate Heaton Park’s popular Lakeside Dining Domes and Heaton Park Cafés. Their dedicated Chef team is led by Chris Holland – award-winning chef and ex-contestant of the BBC show, Great British Menu.

This winter, Chris and his team have brought a range of hearty seasonal dishes to the courtyard, including signature Pulled Pork Sandwiches. Food stalls at The Stables courtyard include; popular vegan scotch eggs and homemade sausage rolls, loaded pasta dishes, and handcrafted stone-baked pizzas served from a vintage converted horsebox.

Warming festive drinks such as Mulled Wine and luxury Hot Chocolates are also on offer from the bar, as well as classic beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks, so all the family are covered.

Come rain or shine, the canopy ensures guests are protected from the elements, and the heat lamps, Christmas music and decorations inside will bring the cosy, Christmassy ambience.

The Stables is open throughout the festive period, with local market traders, wreath making and live music filling the courtyard on weekends. The Stables will be closed on Christmas Day.

By night, the experience is open as part of this year’s Lightopia festival, open to the public from Thursday 24th November until Monday 2nd January.
