Levenshulme's Station South is hosting a 3-Course 'Ooh La La' French Supper Club

Private Chef, Ness Cohen has announced her first ever supper club at Station South on the 9th of July.

This July, coinciding with the month-long Tour De France race, Levenshulme’s brand-new Station South is hosting an Ooh La La Supper Club in collaboration with acclaimed chef Ness Cohen.

Across her career so far, Ness has cheffed in backcountry lodges in the Canadian Rockies, cooked in ski chalets in the French Alps, taught food and nutrition courses at High School Level and hosted popular Supper Club’s in Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Bristol and Weston Super Mare. 

 

She also started a successful Middle Eastern takeaway business from her flat in Ramsbottom during lockdown, honing in on her Israeli heritage.

Passionate about sustainable and locally sourced ingredients, she’ll draw on her experience of cooking in the French Alps this July, constructing a menu of small plates with paired French beverages. 

To start, you’ll be greeted with a Confit Tomate Et Figue Tarte Tatin, which is a confit tomato and fig tart that will be enjoyed alongside a welcome French cocktail. 

Then, to follow, there’ll be an assortment of traditional French dishes including Tartiflette Savoyarde Dish in the Alps, which is a gratin of potatoes with cream and lardons topped with Reblochon cheese.

As well as this, Ness will also serve a Ragoût de Queue De Bouef En Vin de Bourgogne/Ragoût de Champignons, which, in English translates to slow-braised oxtail or mushroom ragoût in burgundy wine.

Fresh salads are huge in France, and Ness will serve two at the supper club alongside her hearty small plates. First up is the Haricot Mélangé Salade, which is topped with mixed beans, roasted carrot, savoy cabbage, toasted seeds and roasted garlic and the second option is the Salade Pomone, which comes with frisee, apple and gruyere.

To finish the evening, Ness will whip together a stunning finale dish of Petites Profiteroles Aux Fromage Fouetté et Raisins et Kirsch – profiteroles stuffed with whipped cheese and served with grapes and kirsch.
