What The Pitta are now OPEN for delivery and takeaway, and they're celebrating with some serious heat this weekend...
German Vegan Döner Kebab specialists What the Pitta are now all set up and ready to go in their brand-new venue in the old El Taquero site on Back Turner Street in the Northern Quarter.
Delivering exclusively through Deliveroo from TODAY, What the Pitta have made a big name for themselves over the past few years, from humble beginnings at The Pump in Shoreditch, to 4 locations across the capital and Brighton.
They’re now in the NQ, and it’s their biggest space to date with seating for up to 60 people (when this pandemic ends that is!)
Their success comes down to many things, one of the most obvious though is their signature Vegan Döner Wrap, a truly magnificent creation that’s brimming with their homemade kebab ‘meat’ – marinated soya chunks in their own blend of ‘secret spices’.
To celebrate their opening this weekend, they’ve got together with the band You Me At Six, who are launching their new album SUCKAPUNCH today and have created their very own “f**king hot” sauce with Manchester chilli-wranglers Lou’s Brews.
The ‘SUCKAPUNCH’ sauce is the hottest Lou’s Brews have ever made, and was spearheaded by bassist Matt Barnes who said: “We have always loved our hot sauce, especially when we are on tour. It is an absolute must to spice up the super noodles and microwave meals when travelling on the tour bus.”
“The SUCKAPUNCH sauce is a Habanero based chilli sauce with distilled vinegar, garlic, sugar and salt. It starts with a big punch of spice, before the vinegar and sweetness come through and goes great with anything that needs a little punch of fire!”
Lou’s Brews founder, Lou, said: “I jumped at the chance to collaborate with the guys when I found out they’re all a bunch of spice heads. It’s been awesome working alongside the fellas, playing around with recipe ideas, and I’m stoked for the world to try our delicious little baby.”
