Ate Days a Week began its journey a couple of years ago with a menu full of impressive pies and baked goods, each taking its name from iconic songs such as Pie of the Tiger, Lucy in the Pie with Diamonds and I Ham the Resurrection

It has made waves in the town of Stockport ever since, now serving legendary status as the home of handbaked, delicious pies, fish and chips and a mint soundtrack to keep you company while you fill up on the store’s delicious stodge.

The Breakfast Pie

We made a visit to the brand-new city centre location this morning, and the first dish to catch our eye was their impressive new breakfast pie, perfectly named Bake Me Up Before You Go-Go.

Inside the pie, there’s a sausage patty, streaky bacon, beans, cheddar cheese, hash brown and black pudding. This is then topped with a fried egg before being drizzled with a delicious, homemade brown sauce gravy. FINALLY, someone has found a way to make gravy a breakfast item, legend.

It’s rich, it’s stodgy, and we can only imagine how perfect it would be for a hangover meal.

The Breakfast Menu & Other Pies

We also had the Full English, which was a unique take on the classic done very, very well. Ate Days a Week use the highest-quality produce in their dishes, with the beans on toast also topped with a fried duck egg. The beans are cooked with Red Leicester cheese and are seriously tasty!

They’ve got loads of pies on offer throughout the menu, including a Steak Pie, Cheese & Onion Pie and a Chicken Balti Pie, and they all can be served with mash, mushy peas and gravy.

Ate Days a Week are also going to be adding specials to the menu soon, too, so keep an eye out for those, as owner and chef, Andy James won 4 awards at this year’s National Pie Awards, so you know they’re going to be something worth queueing for.

The brand-new Ate Days a Week is located in the old Porky Pig venue just off of St Peter’s Square, and they’re currently open 7 days a week!
