The Pen & Pencil has been going for a very impressive 5 years this year, and its success is (in part) down to it’s brilliant Food Menu – one that’s always being updated, changed and improved every 3 months or so.

October is time for a serious re-vamp and they’ve introduced a dazzling array of new dishes, with some real stand out beauties on there. Naturally, we went down to check out these newbies and stuff our faces…

Red Velvet French Toast (£8.50)
Served with Mascarpone Cheese, fresh fruit, maple syrup and toasted nuts

 

Shakshuka with Fried Eggs (£8.50)
Roasted red pepper and tomato shakshuka served with toasted sourdough

 

Hassel Back Potatoes (£10.00)
Hassel Back potatoes served in a rich tomato and basil sauce

 

Hake & Mussels (£15.00)
Grilled hake with mussels, carrot puree, soybeans, carrot crisps and lemon butter sauce

 

Braised Lamb Shank (£15.00)
Braised lamb shank with spinach puree and saffron parmesan mash

 

Brisket Burger (£12.50)
Beef patty with slow cooked beef brisket topped with cheese sauce

 

Return of the Mac Burger (£12.50)
Beef Patty topped with our homemade mac and cheese
