There’s always plenty of events happening in Manchester in May; mostly due to the fact the weather picks up and there are about a million bank holidays in which to get involved and get out of the house.

One of the cities biggest events this month is undoubtedly the Great Manchester Run, where over 30,000 people run down Chester Road while listening to happy hard core and wondering why the hell they volunteered to do it in the first place.

To celebrate this huge event, Vapiano on Exchange Square are looking to promote their fantastic handmade pasta under the heading – Eat Pasta, Run Faster. From my limited knowledge of nutrition, it’s scientifically proven that carbohydrates are a slow release food – allowing you to exercise for longer. This is probably the main reason why most marathon runners will down a full bag full of penne the night before they race.

Vapiano are notoriously very proud of their in-house pasta and rightly so. The pasta is made fresh daily and consists only of two carefully selected ingredients – water and durum wheat semolina. Also, with a diverse range of appetising sauces to go with it – you’re looking at some of the best pasta in the city.

If this wasn’t enough they will also be running a competition throughout May and June where you have the chance to win free food – which is definitely one of the best free things you can ever win. All you will need to do is put up a picture of your Vapiano meal onto Social Media using the hashtag #myvapiano and they will choose the best ones to win some grub. Lovely stuff!
