We’ll be channeling the very best cuisine that Lisbon has to offer, with a selection of dishes that will whisk you away to the winding sunny streets, azure ocean, and gleaming white houses that have become synonymous with the Portuguese capital. Feast on traditional Bacalhau salt cod fritters, enjoy a sumptuous seafood stew, and savour the incomparable delights of Pastel de Nata, all presented personally by the chef alongside some stunning wines.

Known for its splendid seafood and traditional, rustic approach to food, Lisbon is now becoming a culinary capital in its own right thanks to an influx of exciting new chefs. Our evening will commence with clams in white wine sauce, alongside the Portuguese classic of Bacalhau – salted cod fritters that are one of the country’s most popular dishes. To wash this down, we’ll be serving it with a tasting of Vinho Verdi Quinta da Raza 2012 ‘Arinto’, Minho – a famous light sparkling Portuguese wine that will ensure the atmosphere is fizzing!

The Plato Principal will be a rich and satisfying Lisbon seafood stew, also known as ‘Cataplana de Marisco’. Packed with prawns, mussels, squid, clams, hake, tomatoes, vegetables and fresh herbs, and served with some fragrant saffron rice, this hearty yet summery stew showcases some of the best catch of our English shores, served in a traditionally Portuguese fashion. This is washed down with a Fontanario de Pegoes 2015 from Palmela – selected by our sommeliers as it’s just perfect for washing down seafood. Its briny and refreshing nature will take you straight to the tavernas of Lisbon, sitting outside on a sunny day with the scent of the ocean on the breeze.

For dessert (or ‘Sobremesa’) it could only be that Portuguese favourite, Pastel de Nata. This small custard tart is a thing of gastronomic beauty, and we very much hope ours lives up to the authentic versions! We’ll be serving this alongside some cinnamon ice cream and sweet squash fritters, with a glass of Henriques & Henriques Verdelho Madeira – the notes of fig make it the perfect accompaniment.

Then to cultivate this Portuguese feast, we recommend a small supplemental order and tuck into cheese and a glass of Porto – because it wouldn’t be a celebration of Lisbon without! The menu will be presented personally by the chef and guests will be entertained and enlightened throughout the evening, so get your tickets now, and come and join us for a Seasonal Supper that will whisk you away to the sunny climes of the Mediterranean – via your taste buds at least!
