With all of these ‘National…’ days flying around, it must be really rather difficult for restaurants and bars to keep up. One day it’s National Tequila Week and then a couple of days later it’s World Steak Cut Chips Day – it’s mad.

But one week which is actually a welcome addition is National Doughnut Week, which takes place from July 10th – July 18th and is the perfect excuse for you to spend a bit of pocket money on some of the city’s truly wonderful doughnut offerings.

One such offering comes from Tom Kerridge’s The Bull & Bear in the Stock Exchange Hotel and this one is hugely extravagant. They’ve created a LOBSTER BRIOCHE DOUGHNUT, complete with a green apple and Avruga caviar – and it sounds amazing!

Available until Sunday 18th July, you’ll have to be quick if you want to try it, and best of all, £2 from every doughnut sold will raise money for The Children’s Trust, the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury and neurodisability, helping to deliver rehabilitation, education and community services.

So not only does this sound like one of the greatest doughnuts known to man, but you’ll also be doing something really rather nice for charity. Win-win.
