Roast of the Week: Alvarium

We've picked a vegan roast this week - and it's a stunner!

Alvarium has very recently turned their entire menu vegan, curated by new Head Chef and MasterChef semi-finalist Adam Leavy.

He’s created a menu that is based based around market-fresh ingredients, constantly changing and adapting to the seasons. And I must say – it’s absolutely mega.

This weekend sees them launch their Sunday Roast Dinner and there’s a lot going on. I’m sure you’ll agree that the plate looks spectacular, with a large confit beetroot and spinach pithivier on there sitting on a bed of slow cooked puy lentils.

Stretching across the plate is a strip of delights, with cavolo nero (black kale), shiitake bacon fricassée, bread sauce bonbons, fondant potatoes and deep fried heritage carrot skins – all coated in a wonderful red wine and vegetable gravy.

It’s a truly delightful roast dinner and one that makes you not even miss the meat. We pretty much scoffed it in seconds and even went so far as to lick the plate when nobody else was looking.

The Alvarium Roast Dinner is available every Sunday from Sunday 10th November.
