I’ve always wondered what it must be like to have Christmas somewhere hot. Imagine how Santa feels flying over Miami beach in 35-degree heat and his usual garb to deliver his gifts? A part of me hopes he makes a switch to some sort of festive broad-short for that leg of the journey.
As lovely as getting wrapped up for the Christmas markets, or curling up in front of the fire is- sometimes we just want a break from the cold and have we just found the place for that.
Roc & Rye, at the top of King Street, has just had an interior makeover of epic proportions and have made the transformation from a speakeasy whiskey den to a sophisticated Miami-themed late night cocktail Mecca.
The bar is now fully equipped with a nightclub sound system, an interior in multiple shades of HOT pink, neon ceiling lights and Miami themed artwork which will just keep coming until the walls are full.
With the refurb just in time for Christmas, Roc and Rye is the place to come and warm up and get your party going into the wee hours like you were partying on Miami Beach.
The venue is up for hire this festive season too- so it will make the perfect place for your Christmas do. Roc & Rye has a 200 person capacity with drink packages available too. And it isn’t just for Christmas. Roc & Rye takes private bookings all year round and can accommodate parties from 2-120 on a non-exclusive hire basis.
In the New Year, Roc & Rye tell us they are going to launch a brand-spanking-new cocktail menu to match the stunning interior. Naturally, these too will be Miami themed, and they tell us they will all have crazy (and sometimes controversial) names – which I certainly love the sound of. Nothing better than the smile on the bartenders face when you tentatively ask for a ‘salty Chihuahua’.
Everyone person who has been in already stops and says 'Wow, this is so....Miami', so Roc & Rye have started the hashtag #SoMiami for you to use when you are Instagramming your delicious cocktails!
Honestly, they have done a really good job with the refurb so make sure you get down there for a nosy and a couple of cocktails – you won’t regret it!
