Joe and Daniel Schofield, the brothers behind award-trawling cocktail bar Schofield’s, are to open a new bar in Spinningfields.
The bar will be the second site for their Atomeca concept, which already has a spot at the foot of the Deansgate Square towers.
Called ATOMECA Wine Bar, it will shift the focus more towards wine, with the bar group’s James Brandwood curating the wine selection, with their ATOMECA Pale Ale, made by Manchester brewery Track also being served.
There will also be food on offer at the new venue, with small plates being served alongside coffee and ‘cocktails inspired by continental Europe’.
As well as Schofield’s and the existing ATOMECA site, the brothers also run Sterling, the bar at the Stock Exchange Hotel.
Commented Joe Schofield, “Our Deansgate Square location evolved organically inline with what our guests and residents needed us to be as an extension of their homes at the development.
“With our second site we will focus on wine and food much more, giving our guests a place where they can drop in for a glass of wine or a cocktail on the way home, or be able to join us for a meal as they take a journey through Europe, sampling some of the best dishes and drinks the region has to offer.”
Schofield’s, off Quay Street, was named the best cocktail bar in the UK, in the annual Top 50 Cocktail Bars list.
ATOMECA Wine Bar is due to open in the autumn.
