Award-winning Manchester cocktail bar Schofield’s is heading to London, with brothers Joe and Daniel Schofield set to open their second venue in Covent Garden this November.
The pair have secured a site in Seven Dials, close to Shaftesbury Avenue and the West End, following almost three years of searching for a London home.
The venue will now undergo an eight-week fit-out ahead of a planned opening in early November.
Set across two floors, Schofield’s London will be larger than the original Manchester bar in both floorspace and capacity, with the two levels designed to offer different experiences.
“Upstairs will be for people to drop in for a quick drink, while downstairs guests will settle in for the night,” said Joe Schofield.
The new bar will follow much of the formula established at the brothers’ Manchester venue, with white-coated bartenders, table service and a drinks list focused on classic cocktails.
Many of the craftspeople involved in creating the original Schofield’s have also been commissioned for the London project, with the brothers planning a similar aesthetic at the new venue. The menu will champion both familiar and lesser-known classics alongside a selection of seasonal serves.
Joe and Daniel will split their time between Manchester and London, initially relocating to the capital for the opening. Members of the Manchester leadership team will also make the move, while recruitment is underway for London-based bartenders.
Joe Schofield said: “We’re really excited to bring SCHOFIELD’S BAR to London and to continue the legacy we’ve built in Manchester. For us, that legacy has always been rooted in genuine hospitality, classic cocktails and creating a bar that feels timeless.
“London will have its own personality, but those values will remain at its heart. We want it to feel unmistakably SCHOFIELD’S BAR while beginning a new chapter in a new city.”
Schofield’s Bar opened inside Manchester’s Art Deco Sunlight House in 2021 and has since become one of the country’s most decorated cocktail bars.
It was named UK Bar of the Year at the CLASS Bar Awards in 2022 and 2024, and has won Best Bar in the North every year the awards have included regional categories.
The Covent Garden opening will mark the brothers’ first permanent venue outside Manchester, meaning great news for fans of their impeccable drinks and service who spend time in the capital.
