Renowned gastronome and chef, Simon Wood, has announced the launch of Homage this Thursday 18th November, a new cheese and wine fine dining concept for Manchester.

As the latest development from WOOD Manchester, Homage will be opulently situated on the second floor of the chef’s acclaimed flagship restaurant on Jack Rosenthal Street.

Homage will exemplify intimacy yet unintimidating exclusivity, offering only seven tables each night to maintain its personal fine dining approach and complement the award-winning gastronomy experience at WOOD.

Positioned as a unique, after dinner experience and drawing on the expertise of MasterChef winner, Simon Wood, Homage will offer a relaxed journey of cheese courses with expertly matched chutneys, accompaniments and paired wines and liquors to carry guests through the evening including,

– Blue Whinnow with English Quince Membrillo, paired with South African Buitenverwachting Cabernet Merlot
– Truffle Baron Bigod with Beluga Tsar Imperial Pertossian Caviar paired with d’Oliveira Moscatel (1900)
– Hebridean Blue paired with Sandeman Vau Vintage Port 1999
– and revered Lancashire dairy, Mrs Kirkham’s, accompanied by Ox Cheek and paired with Argentinian Pulenta Estate Malbec.

All produce will be sourced from local artisanal diaries and producers, foragers and craftspeople.

Homage is the third concept launched by Wood following WOOD Manchester where he resides as Chef Patron, and his second restaurant, WoodKraft Cheltenham.

Simon said, “WOOD has defied all expectations and brought unintimidating fine dining to Manchester. We are thrilled to be launching Homage as a complementary concept, and it will be a first of its kind in the UK.

“Homage is about connecting, sitting back and enjoying time with family, friends and colleagues, whether you’re having a quiet taster and glass of wine with a friend you’ve not seen in years, or a business meeting over a long port with an associate.”
