The Stockport Gin that’s been named ‘The Best in Britain’ at The Gin Guide Awards 2022

Stockport Gin's Sustainable and Twist of Lime Edition have been named Best in Britain at The Gin Guide Awards...

Launched back in 2014 by spirits writer Paul Jackson as a global, independent resource for consumers and gin producers, The Gin Guide aims to help people discover new gins, and new ways to enjoy gin, whilst providing a platform for gin producers to reach new audiences, tell their stories and ultimately – sell more bottles of the stuff.

Every year they host The Gin Guide Awards, and last week they named two gins from Stockport Gin as WINNERS of their ‘Best in England’ and ‘Best in Britain’ categories.

The Twist of Lime Edition gin achieved the highest score out of all entries in the whole of Britain, and with 2022 receiving the highest number of entries from producers – it’s a serious feather in the cap of the local small-batch distiller.

Stockport Gin is owned and operated by Paul and Cheryl, a husband and wife team who made the move into distilling back in 2019. Paul worked for an architectural practice, while Cheryl owned her own hairdressing business but both took the plunge into gin-making and haven’t looked back since.

On Stockport Gin’s win, The Gin Guide Head Judge & Founder Paul said: “It was a repeat award-winner that rose further this year to claim the ‘Best in Britain 2022’ Award for the first time.”

“Stockport Gin’s Twist of Lime Edition achieved exceptional scores from every judge for the 3rd consecutive year, continuing to impress with the larger judging panels and a host of new expert judges assessing it this year.”

Stockport Gin owns its very own distillery and gin shop right in the heart of Stockport Town Centre on St Petersgate. Not only can you get all of their gins in here, but they also offer Distillery Tours where you can get a sneak peek behind the scenes, alongside a few Gin & Tonics (of course).
