Lime Bar in Salford Quays has become somewhat of an institution over the last 21 years of business, serving up good grub, ice-cold pints and plenty of sport on the indoor and outdoor TVs.

Those years must have been difficult for the venue, one which is completely independent and family-owned – as an influx of chain restaurants and bars have dominated the Quays for years – but now – the tides are turning.

Lime itself began all the way back in the late 90s down in Shoreditch, before moving up to Manchester with a location just off Albert Square – one which also featured the sublime ‘SubSpace’ downstairs – where many a Manc would venture on a Friday and Saturday evening.

This was quickly followed by a location at the newly re-generated Salford Quays at the turn of the Millennium, and they’ve been an independent oasis there ever since, serving up cold pints, pub grub and footy showings week-in, week-out.

Looking to mix things up somewhat, with their opening on April 12th, they’ve swung open their kitchen doors to join forces with two of the hottest new street food traders in town – Bad Boy Vegan and Unagi.

In addition, there’s the always impressive Lime menu on top, meaning you’ve got a diverse range of food options – all under one roof – just like you’d have in a Food Hall style venue…

The Classic Lime Menu

The Lime Menu features their top-selling dishes over the past two decades like the classic Fish and Chips (£13) and The Ultimate Burger (£18) – perfect alongside a few frosty pints out on the terrace in the sun.

There’s also their massive Mexican Sharing Platter (£18), featuring pulled pork tacos, cheese quesadilla, classic nachos, beef chilli and a bucket of buffalo chicken wings.

There’s also Steaks, Bangers & Mash, a cracking Bury Black Pudding & Bacon Salad and you can even order yourself a huge Full English Breakfast (£11.50) until 4pm every day.

Oh, and their excellent Sunday Roasts will still be available from 12pm every Sunday too!

Unagi Street Food

If you’d prefer, you can also order pan-Asian hot food and freshly rolled sushi from the super talented OG’s at Unagi Street Food.

You may have heard of this lot from the streets of Altrincham, and they’ve also set up shop here at Lime at the Quays.

The menu boasts the likes of their frankly massive sushi platters which feature the chef’s pick of nigiri, sashimi, hosomaki, urumak sushi in either 30 or 40 pieces – perfect for sharing.

There’s also a full menu of ‘Street Snacks’ for all your chicken wing, spring roll and Edamame needs. Plus a ‘Hot Mains’ menu with classics like Katsu, Teriyaki and Chilli Udon noodles.

Bad Boy Vegan

If that wasn’t enough, you can opt for vegan junk food from Bad Boy Vegan.

The menu is full of all the junk food classics like mac & cheese, burgers, kebabs and loaded fries – all plant-based of course! You can even get your paws on a naughty vegan Baked New York cheesecake.

The huge heated outdoor terrace is open every day from 11am with food and drinks from all three menus (plus a dedicated kids menu!) served until late.

They’ve even got outdoor TV’s so you don’t have to miss out on what’s happening in the world of Football. Like how it’s basically in tatters.

There’s no need to book either – Lime is operating entirely on a first-come-first-served basis. Keep up to date below.
