Chef Adam Reid has revealed details of the menu he has devised for aether, the new bookable private terminal set to launch at Manchester Airport next month.
The patron of Adam Reid at The French, the award-winning restaurant at the Midland Hotel, has put together an all-day dining menu boasting a host of local suppliers, ranging from snacks right through to dinner.
Speaking about the food offering, he said: “I’m excited to be collaborating with the team at aether to curate a bespoke set menu for Manchester Airport’s new private terminal.
“We’ve crafted a delicious and thoughtful dining experience, marking a first for UK private terminals. With a guided set menu, guests can enjoy a stress-free and effortless journey, allowing them to fully relax before they travel.”
The menu is divided into breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with the breakfast offer featuring the likes of hot smoked salmon and scrambled crumpet, Reid’s signature breakfast bun, and stewed fruit with granola and yoghurt.
For lunch, dishes will include a crumpet topped with shrimp and tomato butter & salad, mincemeat gravy on toasted malt loaf, and cheese and mushroom toast with walnut ketchup, using Lancashire cheese from renowned farm Kirkham’s.
For dinner, there will be plates like roasted Cornish cod with brown shrimp, stewed beef cheek with crispy bits of sage, or glazed hen of the woods mushrooms.
Both lunch and dinner also include cheese, chutney, a cake of the day, and seasonal crumble with the season’s stewed fruits.
aether is set to open in November, where for a starting price of £90, you’ll be able to use the private terminal’s lounge and on-site security, and then be chauffeured to your gate.
Other packages will include drinks and food, security, checked in bags and other features starting from £150 and £170 upwards.
Suzanne Orr, General Manager of Aether, added: “aether is evolving the airport experience for all travellers to and from Manchester Airport. Our collaboration with Adam Reid, one of the city’s top culinary talents, perfectly complements Aether’s commitment to offering a high-quality, stress-free travel experience.”
