Since they started in 2020, Eat Well MCR is a lifeline to people across the region...
Since it started in the days after lockdown, Eat Well MCR has delivered more than 150,000 meals to people who need them across Greater Manchester – all cooked by some of the city’s most prestigious restaurants.
Recruiting the like of Dishoom, Hawksmoor, Hello Oriental and Maray, among many, many others (too many to name check here), they give back to the city without fanfare and for all the right reasons.
We spent a day out on the road with some of the team, to see first-hand some of the vital work they do – from the kitchens making up the meals all the way through to the people who receive them.
The whole thing is magnificent; a testament both to the tenacity of its founders, Kathleen O’Connor, Gemma Saunders and Mary-Ellen McTague, and also to the city’s chefs who quietly but diligently support what has become an essential lifeline for so many.
If you want to help too, you can… head to Eat Well MCR’s site donate £2 a month.
You know what to do.
