We've missed SO many places over the last 12 months. As COVID-19 forced us all indoors, businesses across the city closed up shop, only to re-open for a couple of months in the Summer before subsequently shutting again. It's all been a big mess - but we're finally reaching the light at the end of the tunnel NEXT WEEK as hospitality venues are free to open their doors for indoor dining and drinking - with no restrictions on what guests eat, drink or when they need to stop. Opening up their doors is Northern Quarter bar and restaurant Pen & Pencil, and they're looking to hit the ground running and going straight back to 'business as usual' with this lot...

Bottomless Booze & FOOD Brunch!

In case you didn't know this - The Pen & Pencil is one of only a few places in the city that offer up a Bottomless Brunch that also includes the FOOD! Yep, for £40pp you can sit down and eat as many brunch dishes as you like, alongside as much booze as you like. They don't do it every week - it's the last Saturday of every month - which is probably a good thing because otherwise we'd be there every week getting fat. Book Bottomless Brunch!  

The Happy Hour

One of the best Happy Hours in the city, The Pen & Pencil will be offering it up straight away when they open next week - from Monday to Friday 5-7pm. During that time you can grab 2 cocktails for £12, £3.50 bottles of beer, £12 bottles of wine and £16 bottles of Prosecco.  

All Day Brunch & Banging Burgers

The Pen & Pencil serve up their brunch dishes until 4pm every single day, which makes having a hangover in the city much, much easier. There's loads of great stuff on there, including all the classics and my personal favourite - a Nduja Potato Hash with Poached Eggs. New Cocktail Menu

The Pen & Pencil will be launching a brand-new cocktail menu next week and, judging by their previous efforts - there's going to be some belters in there. It's nice to see their excellent Smoked Pineapple Marg back, and as soon as I can get my hands on their Irish Campfire Old Fashioned - the better. View Cocktail Menu  

50% OFF Mondays

I reckon most places in the city that previously offered 50% OFF on a Monday, probably aren't doing for a while when they open next week. Not P&P!
