When it comes to cocktail bars, Manchester is inundated with the lavish and the luxurious, from hidden speakeasies to world famous institutions and more.

The vibrancy of the city is shaken and stirred by expert mixologists who have created bars in which creativity storms the menus, and the Franklin & Sons Top 50 list honours just that.

For 2023, three Manchester bars have made the esteemed list, each for their own unique take on the opulent cocktail drinking culture.

Speak in Code, Project Halcyon and Blinker are the three Manchester bars that have been shortlisted for 2023, which, as always, celebrates the definitive drinking destinations across the UK.

Project Halcyon said: “We are absolutely over the moon to announce we have been shortlisted for best newcomer at the top 50 cocktail bars.

“To be nominated for such a prestigious award just 6 weeks after opening is truly outstanding and we can’t thank everyone enough for their support.

“Congratulations to the other shortlist nominees and a shout out to our friends over at Speak in Code for making the list for the 2nd year running, and Blinker for making it in their first year of opening!”

Voted for and chosen by Franklin & Sons handpicked voting academy of experts who are key people in the hospitality industry, the curated list is an ode to the venue’s at the top of their game.

The industry professionals aim to include a range of cocktail bars that offer something for everyone, with previous winners including Manchester’s Schofield’s Bar, as well as Mother Mercy in Newcastle, Lab22 in Cardiff and Laki Kane in London.
