Lockdown can’t stop us!
Last week saw the launch of Don Giovanni’s ‘Don’s At Home’ cook at home meal kits, meaning that us lot can now recreate our absolute fave Italian dishes from the restaurant at home.
The ‘Don’s At Home’ experience is the first the restaurant has offered in its 36 years serving us Manchester foodies!
We opted for both the Pizza Margherita & Gnocchi Al Pomodoro options – and they were honestly so much fun. It even came with these super cute little paper chef hats.
There’s minimal cooking and assembling required, and each box comes with a super easy set of instructions from Don Giovanni’s head chef to help you achieve that ‘restaurant quality’ finish – although, I think my presentation skills could improve for sure.
There a few options that you can go for, with each box containing all the fresh ingredients pre-packaged that you’ll need to recreate your dish at home.
To be honest, the kneading of the dough for the Margherita was sooo tricky to nail – the guys really do make it look easy, and it turns out I’m not actually as graceful as I thought I would be doing this.
Nevertheless, it was such a good experience for 2 – I honestly had the best time and I’m already eyeing up their other kits for next week’s lockdown date night.
I didn’t actually realise just HOW easy it is to make pizza from scratch at home, all you need is a frying pan and a grill!
So, save yourself that massive hole in your pocket if you’ve been thinking about getting a pizza oven and try this first.
The kits are only £15, and they’re available to order direct from Don Giovanni and via the restaurant’s delivery partners at Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Just Eat.
We’ve heard that meal kits will also be made available on the Eat Well MCR Marketplace very soon, so keep an eye out for that!
