Set menu at The Black Friar
Mother’s Day lands on 15 March, and The Black Friar is offering an all day set menu with two courses for £37 or three for £44, plus a complimentary gift for Mum. Expect a proper sit-down meal, generous plates and the kind of long lunch that makes you everyone’s favourite child. If you gravitate towards homely pies and traditional British cooking executed perfectly, this one is ideal.
Fizz for mums at The Refuge
This Mother’s Day, The Refuge offering a complimentary glass of fizz to all Mums when dining in the restaurant. Available all day on Sunday 15 March, diners and families looking to celebrate can enjoy the much-loved roast menu. And the good news is that long-standing favourites are still on the Sunday menu, including the legendary roast platter for two.
A celebratory menu at Sexy Fish
This Mother’s Day, Sexy Fish Manchester is inviting guests to honour the leading lady in their lives with an exclusive Sexy Fish set menu providing the perfect backdrop for a celebration filled with love and flavour in the heart of Spinningfields as well as a complimentary glass of bubbles for all Mum’s who dine off the menu. Priced at £48 per person, the experience begins with a selection of started, followed by a sushi and sashimi platter. The main event a whole baby chicken and caramelised black cod glazed in spicy miso will take centre stage, with a cheesecake dessert to round things off. A glamour-filled way to mark this special Sunday.
An exclusive beauty event at Selfridges
Mums and mother-figures are invited to the ultimate morning of all-things beauty at Selfridges in the Trafford Centre. Guests have early access into store before it opens to receive expert beauty advice from customer-favourite beauty, skincare and fragrance brands. Guests can expect a DJ and enjoy complimentary breakfast pastries, coffees and smoothies as they explore the very best of Selfridges Beauty, with exclusive gifts to take home, including a complimentary bunch of flowers. Tickets are £20 and redeemable on product purchases on the day.
Classical music and afternoon tea at tender
Stock Exchange Hotel is inviting guests to celebrate mums and mother figures at tender restaurant, and there’s two different experiences to choose from. On Saturday 14 March an afternoon tea will take place with special live performances from musicians of The Hallé, bringing a classical soundtrack to the afternoon. On Mother’s Day, 15 March, guests can enjoy live acoustic music all throughout the day as they enjoy tender’s exceptional Sunday roast. Be sure to book in advance.
A one-off dessert at Fenix
Fenix are marking Mother’s Day in typically poetic fashion. Their one-off dessert features an edible black pearl (the rarest of its kind), made of raspberry mousse, dark chocolate and coffee caviar. Plus, all mothers receive a glass of complimentary sparkling wine or Lady Athena cocktail, made with Casamigos Blanco, Cointreau, Muyu Jasmine, Everleaf Marine, lavender, lemon. That’s one way to make them feel special.
Brunch and fizz at The Lowry Hotel
This Mother’s Day enjoy a relaxed brunch at The River Restaurant in the always-impeccable Lowry Hotel. Guests can enjoy fluffy pancakes with berry compote, smoked salmon bagels, and perfectly cooked poached eggs, all designed to make the day feel truly special. It’s £25 per person, but £30 if you’d like to enjoy a glass of English sparking wine. If brunch isn’t your thing, they’re also putting on a special afternoon tea on Sunday 15 March.
Champagne and truffles at Malmaison
Both Malmaison locations in Manchester – Deansgate and Piccadilly – are celebrating in style this Mother’s Day weekend. Join them Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 March for an afternoon tea, complete with a glass of Lombard Champagne and indulgent Champagne truffles. You can also keep things traditional with their Mother’s Day Sunday lunch on the Sunday (of course). Enjoy three delicious courses, plus Champagne and truffles included. A new Peruvian-inspired roast at Chotto Matte
This Mother’s Day Chotto Matte are launching their new Peruvian-inspired roast offering. Combining the comfort of a traditional Sunday roast with Chotto Matte’s bold Nikkei flavours, the new offering will showcase fire-led cooking, vibrant dishes and generous sharing plates. Priced at £32 per person, the experience encourages guests to gather around the table and enjoy a feast made for sharing. This is one update to a tradition we can 100% get behind.
An Aperol party at Albert’s Schloss
Albert’s Schloss is teaming up with Aperol to bring a splash of spring to the celebrations, with spritzes, limited-edition dishes and entertainment. Alongside their much-loved Sunday roasts there’ll also be two weekend-only specials: curry roasted cod with cauliflower, buttered spinach and fennel sauce, and a decadent sticky toffee pudding. There’ll also be plenty of spritzes alongside DJs and live performances all day long – a proper knees-up.
Mother’s Day at San Carlo
Mother’s Day at San Carlo is all about quality time. On Sunday 15 March, Mums who dine at San Carlo, San Carlo Cicchetti and San Carlo Fumo will receive a complimentary glass of Champagne, setting the tone for a celebratory meal. Polaroid cameras, film and keepsake frames will be placed on tables too, meaning you can capture treasured moments in a super-cool, retro way.
A high-end roast dinner at Pip
Celebrate Mother’s Day at Pip with a relaxed Sunday roast, the perfect way to gather around the table and treat the mother figures in your life. Expect generous servings, comforting flavours and all the little touches that make a Sunday feel special, all created by top chef Mary-Ellen McTague. Plus, all mums dining will receive a complimentary glass of fizz.
MAYA’s Mamma Mia Bottomless Brunch
In a full camp celebration of Mamma Mia coming to The Palace Theatre, MAYA on Canal Street is hosting a Bottomless Brunch hosted by the inimitable Very Cherry. On Saturday 14 March from 2pm to 4pm, guests will enjoy food, bottomless drinks including a special Mamma Mia cocktail, fizz, beer and cocktails. Expect outrageous singalongs to get you in the mood for the feel-good theatre performance of the moment.
Afternoon tea with a view at Cloud 23
Available at Cloud 23, ‘Sky High Afternoon Tea’ is a love letter to the city – with desserts inspired by Manchester landmarks, sandwiches made using Martin’s Bakery bread and Mrs Kirkham’s cheese, and Vimto jam for your scones. You’ll be provided with binoculars to use during the experience, to really take in that view from 23 stories up. It’s priced at £35 per person, with optional champagne or cocktail upgrade, and makes for a great Mother’s Day option.
