Celebrate half a century of the brilliant Band On The Wall. Join the team as they mark 50 years since the reopening of the historic venue with a day of live music, with the full line-up of entertainment. There will also be an archival exhibition of the venue’s history to browse too.
This milestone event features special guests, beloved local talent, and an unforgettable evening of soul, jazz, and hip-hop.
At 1pm, Band On The Wall kick off the festivities with Apitos, the UK’s premier Latin jazz ensemble and regular performers at the venue from the eighties until the early 2000s, renowned for their vibrant tributes to Tito Puente and Poncho Sanchez. Following Apitos, guests can enjoy performances in the Copper Bar from Friends of Band on the Wall, featuring Hopalong Gretzky, alongside venue regulars Emma Taylor and more, delivering soulful and eclectic sets.
In the evening, the celebration continues with a night of soul, Hip Hop, and jazz, headlined by Manchester’s finest: Children of Zeus and Secret Night Gang. Children of Zeus, the dynamic duo of Konny Kon and Tyler Daley, bring their signature blend of UK street soul, R&B, and Hip Hop. Secret Night Gang, led by Kemani Anderson and Callum Connell, delivers an uplifting fusion of jazz, funk, soul, gospel, and R&B.
