Canadian rock pop sensation Avril Lavigne will play at Manchester’s Sounds of the City festival this summer. The singer-songwriter will play the huge outdoor show on Wednesday 3 July with special guests pop-punk band Simple Plan.
The Sk8er Boi hitmaker has sold over 40 million albums worldwide, notched eight GRAMMY Award nominations and holds a Guinness World Record as “the youngest female solo artist to top the UK chart”. She joins the likes of Fatboy Slim, Tom Grennan, Hacienda Classical, Loyle Carner, The Saw Doctors, Manic Street Preachers and Suede at the Sounds of the City series.
