Designed to strengthen the music industry across Greater Manchester, Beyond The Music is a media conference and festival encouraging creativity and conversation. There’ll be speakers including Steve Coogan, social pioneer Nair Afal OBE and Tommas Arnby, Yungblud’s manager, as well as loads more industry leaders and insiders. Expect three days of summits, including Class Acts: Is The Music Industry Now Too Posh To Push The Envelope? and Stop The Votes: Challenging The Political Value of the Creative Industries. The conference will close by holding the world’s first Creative Industries AI Summit convened by the newly appointed PM Andy Burnham.
By night the conference becomes a celebration of the industry with a festival line-up that nurtures talents both new and established with a spotlight on under appreciated genres and a commitment to a 50/50 gender split. Tickets are available for individual shows, a weekend long pass, or full access to all the talks and gigs, but if you’re a dedicated music lover you’ll want to attend something.
